The oil pump sprocket is a toothed gear mounted on the oil pump of the 1.6 L petrol K7MF/K7M engine used in the Nissan NP200. Its main function is to transfer rotational motion from the timing chain to the oil pump, allowing the pump to circulate engine oil under pressure throughout the engine.
The sprocket engages with the oil pump chain inside the timing assembly, ensuring the oil pump rotates in sync with the engine. This continuous rotation enables proper lubrication of critical engine components such as the crankshaft, camshaft, bearings, and valvetrain parts.
